Moringa: The Superfood
Moringa Oleifera, the natural multivitamin and nutrition booster is one of the world’s most popular superfoods. The entire tree, including the seeds and trunk are edible with each part containing varying amounts of the many vitamins and minerals. Kale and Matcha (green tea powder) have reigned supreme at the top of the supergreens list but in 2017 Moringa started off as the biggest supergreen and superfood.
This miracle tree contains more than 90 nutrients, 46 different antioxidants and 36 anti-inflammatories and has been credited with assisting in skin ailments, malaria, intestinal worms and many others. It can grow up to 10-12 ft and flowers every 6 months.
You can consume moringa in many ways and forms including recipes like moringa ice-cream, muffins and shakes. However, be careful when drinking it as a tea because the flowers and buds can have a laxative effect.
